2018 Troubadour Artist of the Year and perennial festival presence, Liz Frencham is stepping centre stage with a swag of new songs along with favourites from Jigzag and Frencham Smith days.
Liz is a rare bird. A warm, exuberant performer and a captivating soloist, she is an essential element in multiple successful collaborations including Frencham Smith, Jigzag, John Flanagan Trio, Jimmy The Fish and Dev’lish Mary.
Somehow, (without genetic trickery!) she also maintains a career as a respected accompanist, co-producer and arranger both onstage and in the recording studio; sought out by a diverse gang of artists both national and international including While & Matthews (UK), Scott Cook (CAN), David LaMotte (US), Mic Conway, Fred Smith, Miriam Lieberman and more.
Always a luminous and generous presence, Liz Frencham possesses that unique ability to hold an audience fondly in the palm of her hand. Warm, sensuous, earthy, and radiant are all adjectives that have been used to describe Liz’s performance.
Liz is revered by audiences and artists alike for her singing, songwriting and sensitivity on the double bass. She is best known through Sydney trio Jigzag who have gained wide acclaim on the international festival circuit with their joyful blend of acoustic folk/pop.
“Frencham is a superb singer and a solid and melodic bass player”. – Graham McDonald, Canberra Times
